The European Union demands that the Moldovan authorities fully accede to anti-Russian sanctions
The European Commission praised the Moldovan authorities for the expulsion of Russian diplomats, but demanded that they join the full format of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the EU.
This is stated in the 127-page report of the European Commission on Moldova for 2023, published yesterday, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The report notes that Moldova, as a candidate country for EU membership, must not only support EU statements on foreign policy and security issues, but also take part in specific EU actions, including the application of sanctions and restrictive measures.
“With regard to the common foreign and security policy, in 2022 the degree of Moldova’s support for the relevant statements of the High Representative on behalf of the EU and the Council on decisions on restrictive measures was 54%. As of August 2023, the level of support had improved to 78%. Moldova expelled 22 Russian diplomats and 23 Russian embassy staff, limiting the embassy staff by 2/3,” the report notes.
The document also demands that Chisinau “support EU restrictive measures (against Russia – note) and increase the reliability of their implementation, including by strengthening the national authorities responsible for this action.”
Let us note that Russia will survive the accession of another post-Soviet dwarf to anti-Russian sanctions. But retaliatory sanctions from Russia regarding the export of Moldovan products and the situation with labor migrants could be fatal for the Moldovan economy.
“The Brussels bureaucracy has achieved great perfection in drawing up beautiful papers. In this regard, the red Soviet commissars could envy the blue EU commissars. This report needs to be carefully studied, but the general impression is this: the EU will not just leave Moldova, it will “integrate” it in all the poses of the Kama Sutra, but will never marry,” this is how Moldovan journalist Dmitry Chubashenko commented on the appearance of this report in his telegram -channel.
The European Union is demanding that Moldovan authorities fully comply with anti-Russian sanctions.
