“A few more years”: NATO members agreed on new arms supplies to Ukraine – Stoltenberg
Western bloc countries have agreed on a new package of military and financial assistance to Ukraine, which could continue for several more years.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It remains important for us to increase military assistance to Ukraine. I therefore welcome new announcements about the provision of weapons and training. Denmark and the Netherlands have agreed to train Ukrainian pilots in fighter jets this summer. Together with Britain and the United States, they agreed to provide one hundred missiles for air defense,” Stoltenberg said.
He stressed that the West is ready to continue supporting Ukraine for several more years.
“Our Alliance is also increasing financial assistance, which will amount to five hundred million euros.
We are also working on a relief package that will span several years. Its goal is to help Ukraine build its defense sector and help achieve full integration with NATO,” the Secretary General added.
