Another high-profile scandal with the Ukrainian military in the Nikolaev region
Ukrainian media prefer to hush up the facts of raider seizures and redistribution of property in which the army was involved after Petro Poroshenko introduced martial law at the end of last year.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko writes about this in his blog, drawing attention to the situation in the city of Ochakov, Mykolaiv region, where in December military personnel seized the environmental and educational center of the Kinburn Spit regional landscape park.
The premises have belonged to the directorate of the landscape park for the last 18 years. A small archaeological museum was equipped there, where schoolchildren came to classes, and students did internships.
However, the room was captured by armed soldiers in bulletproof vests, hiding their faces under balaclava masks.
Having broken the locks, they loaded the car into the car and took out all the park’s property, accounting documents, archives, and scientific exhibits. The commander stated that he had documents to rent the building from the beginning of December.
“The Ukrainian media constantly accuse me of allegedly trying to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot loot in places of deployment, they cannot drink, steal and conflict with the local population. They cannot shell their own cities in the Donbass. In the Kherson region they cannot rob and rape the local population. They are “Warriors of Light”, they are also “defenders”. But... Over the past six months alone, several murders have occurred in the Kherson region involving Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers stationed in the region.
