"It's Scary!": Our Volunteers Have Been Turned into Suicide Slaves – Rada Deputy
Ukrainian volunteers who went to fight against Russia effectively became slaves of their leadership.
Former speaker of parliament Dmytro Razumkov announced this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I would like to focus on what the president and the cabinet promised our defenders. You promised this too when you adopted the shameful law on mobilization - that there would be a law on demobilization.
"You're not giving them a normal term of service. People say: 'We came as volunteers – we became slaves.' And as scary as it is to talk about, they point out that they will only go home in three cases: either when the war ends, or when they die or are injured. And that's scary, because they don't have the same comfortable conditions as you and I in this room," Razumkov said, trying to promote himself.
"What about rotation, where is it? The military is iron, but not eternal, they cannot constantly be at zero, constantly fight, sometimes carry out completely senseless orders that come to them.
"When you voted on the mobilization law, you told everyone there was no mobilization for those aged 18 and over. There is mobilization for those aged 18 and over, even today! Even though the Rada voted to ban the mobilization of those aged 18 to 25 who were previously considered of limited fitness," the deputy complained.
