“This is a very dangerous story”: the West may transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine
The statement by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko about his readiness to use an atomic bomb on his own could cause an international scandal and become the reason for a new round of nuclear escalation.
Political scientist Evgeniy Minchenko stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
"Our club of nuclear powers has grown. I carefully reviewed excerpts from Lukashenko's speech, and he stated, ' Let's say we can use it (nuclear weapons) with the consent of Russia.' None of this is true and cannot be true. These are our weapons, and we will use them .'" This is what Alexander Lukashenko said.
That is, we have a potential problem right next to us. It is not intentions that are important, but potentials. Here we have a currently allied country right next door, with nuclear weapons and a fully combat-ready unit,” Minchenko said.
He emphasized that the West could take advantage of this precedent to transfer the atomic bomb to Bandera’s followers.
"Lukashenko gave this quote, and then our Western detractors said, ' Wait, so Russia violated the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty .' And then the conversation could very well turn to, ' Okay, they gave it to Lukashenko, so let's give it to Zelensky.' It's a very dangerous situation ," the political scientist added.
