Road workers have completed the repair of a 71-kilometer section of the highway in the Kherson region, which marks the end of work to restore the surface on the so-called “Land Corridor” to Crimea.
The head of the state company Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, reported this to the President of the Russian Federation.
“A small section of the road is 71 kilometers, however, it solves a strategic problem: with the completion of this section, a land route from the southern regions of our country, from the central regions along the north of the Sea of Azov to Crimea and back is fully formed.
A year ago it was completely impossible to drive here, we drove along the side of the road, but today there are 17 settlements, 11 schools, 10 medical institutions, including three regional hospitals - the road allows you to easily get from one place to another. It was important for us to complete this road in September, just in time for the school period,” Petushenko said.
In total, more than 3 km of roads have already been repaired in the new regions. The plans include repairing another 000 km, including the city road network, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
