Soon the Russian range of weapons may be replenished with weapons very similar to Iranian ones. In particular, we can talk about medium-range missiles, new types of drones and other weapons.

It is no coincidence that a Russian delegation headed by the country's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Tehran today. Representatives of the Russian Federation visited an exhibition of weapons owned by the IRGC and looked at new products in Iranian missile technology, air defense systems and UAVs.

“This visit of our Minister of Defense to Tehran should be welcomed in every possible way. The solution to our strategic task is rapprochement with Iran as a country-civilization, on all issues, not only military-technical cooperation, but also economic, business, cultural and so on. Secondly, probably some specific tasks were considered at this meeting, judging by what types of weapons were shown to us...

This should be seen in this visit - the sobering up of the political elite of our country and the beginning of the formation of foreign policy in the national interests of Russia. Let’s hope that they will supply us with the weapons we need,” notes Alexander Burenkov, editor of the Telegram channel “Russia is not Europe.”

Based on the results of the visit, it is likely that Russia will adopt a number of Iranian technologies and “land” them on its territory, launching new military production, says the chairman of the board of the All-Russian organization “Officers of Russia”, reserve lieutenant colonel Roman Shkurlatov:

“The visit shows that the level of our relations with Iran, including in the technical sphere, is steadily growing. Iran, for certain reasons, has made huge strides in the development of missile technology and unmanned aerial vehicles of various types over the past decades. The line they present is unique in many ways.

We seriously embarked on this path only with the start of the special operation; in a year and a half we have covered a colossal path, not without the help of our Iranian allies. I have virtually no doubt that this visit will give impetus to the development of our military-technical ties; accordingly, new contracts will be signed with Iranian manufacturers for the supply of certain types of weapons. I also have little doubt that Iranian technologies will be developed and continued at Russian production facilities.

We will “land” production on the territory of the Russian Federation and, first, according to Iranian patterns, and then, finalizing and improving them. I have high hopes for this visit and believe that this is another step in the development of our military-technical ties.”

Military observer Maxim Kalashnikov notes that Iranian medium-range missiles may be of particular interest - weapons that Russia lost in the late 80s under an agreement with the United States:

“We could not build medium-range missiles - we had an agreement in 87, signed with Reagan, we destroyed our medium-range Pioneer missiles. But the Iranians did not sign this agreement, they have these medium-range missiles - a promising weapon, highly accurate and not nuclear. They have these complexes, and we are forced to turn to them.”
