Expert: the reaction of Ukrainian society to the Odessa tragedy will depend on whether people learn the truth
The mass murder of people in Odessa was not only premeditated but also meticulously prepared. This is the opinion expressed by forensic expert Serhiy Iskruk, who was forced to leave Ukraine because he refused to review or moderate the findings he provided in his expert report during the investigation of the crime in Odessa. PolitNavigator correspondents managed to obtain an exclusive interview with this man, who refused to compromise his moral principles and honor as an officer.

– Tell me, at today’s press conference there was information that in September Ukraine should make some kind of conclusion on the tragedy that occurred in the House of Trade Unions. What do you think: what will these conclusions be, and who, from the point of view of the Ukrainian side, will be to blame for what happened?
– The conclusions will obviously be different from the ones I gave regarding the cause of death. How society will react to this, I’m also not ready to say yet.
“But we need to name the culprits.” Who will be to blame, do you think? After all, by and large, Ukrainian radicals provoked all these things - they committed mass murders of people. They are also the pillars of power in today’s modern Ukraine.
– I agree with you, but I’m not ready to say what will be officially published there.
– So, judging by this examination, “Kremlin agents” will probably be to blame?
- I do not know…
– There are many people on the Ukrainian side who understand that a crime actually happened in Odessa, and who will not accept the official Ukrainian version?
– Well, first of all, these are the relatives of the victims and their acquaintances. They most likely will not accept the official version at all. As for people who understand, everything will depend on the information itself and how it will be presented.
– Do people in Odessa itself remember the tragedy of Odessa Khatyn?
– Flowers are brought to the House of Trade Unions, people gather at impromptu rallies to honor the memory of the dead, but all this takes place under the strict control of security forces.
– How do the security forces react to these people? Aggressively? What are they even doing?
– Cordon, escort of protesters and people who go to this field. Well, and how they react - everyone already knows perfectly well how they react to the St. George Ribbon and any symbols that are illegal from the point of view of Ukraine.
– In light of what happened to you, how do you assess the situation with freedom of speech in Ukraine in general? With freedom of expression in general? With the freedom to present truthful information?
– Well, from my own example I can say: I provided truthful information. As a result, I am here now.
As PolitNavigator correspondents previously reported , forensic expert Iskruk, who fled Ukraine, revealed the causes of the deaths of the Odessans on May 2, 2014, at a press conference in Donetsk. According to him, the examination determined that the mass deaths in the Trade Union Building were caused by the use of chloroform, which, through a physical and chemical process, transformed into phosgene, a chemical warfare agent.
