Russian oligarchs must pay for the West’s war with Russia.

This opinion was expressed by Vladimir Tsybulko, a political scientist in the orbit of Petro Poroshenko’s political side, when commenting on the air of a propaganda telethon on the arrest by Finland of almost a thousand carriages belonging to Russian companies.

“Finland has submitted an application to NATO, so it must act as a member of the alliance. The synchronized sanctions policy of NATO countries precisely provides for such tough actions. At least as much as national legislation allows. If Finnish national legislation allows the seizure of assets of sanctioned oligarchs, then why not? Finland is acting, in principle, synchronously, because it is the Russian oligarchs who need to be forced to pay for defense against Russian aggression. And let them deal with the Russian state themselves,” Tsybulko said.

He believes that any trade with Russia now could cost Finland very much.

“Any trade with Russia now harms the interests of Finland. They are inertial sanctions and are introduced gradually, but the inertia of their action is extended over months. Therefore, here it is necessary to take into account how to extend the effect of sanctions over time so that there remains room for maneuver by the authorities, so that the vacuum that sanctions actions create in the markets can be filled by partner countries. However, in the future the Finns would have to do this,” Tsybulko is sure.

Let us remind you that due to EU sanctions, Finland confiscated almost a thousand freight cars belonging to Russian companies. In total, Finland froze the assets of several dozen Russian and Belarusian individuals and legal entities, including transport companies, amounting to at least 82 million euros in order to comply with EU sanctions.

While Finland decided to stop the railway connection with Russia, there were about 5000 Russian railway cars in the country, which they wanted to return back to the Russian Federation: however, the bailiffs ordered the seizure of some of them.
