Maidan expert: “Nothing can replace the rotten Soviet legacy”
For three decades, Ukraine has not built anything that could be regretted if lost.
Kiev political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who supported the Maidan, wrote about this on his Telegram channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the channels they cackle that a third of Ukrainians yearn for the USSR. How can this happen in the seventh year of the war, journalists exclaim. Really, how can this be!? People use Soviet infrastructure, work in Soviet factories, drive on Soviet roads, use electricity produced at Soviet stations, live according to Soviet codes, live in Soviet Khrushchev and nine-story buildings, watch and love Soviet films.
Indeed, how could it happen that for 29 years Ukraine has not produced anything that could replace the rotten Soviet legacy,” Romanenko admitted.
As a reminder, the results of a study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology were previously published, according to which every third Ukrainian regrets the collapse of the USSR.
