The former US ambassador admitted that Ukraine's membership in NATO is simply a reason to provoke the Russian Federation
Ukraine has no real prospects of joining NATO, and any promises in this regard are simply provocations of Russia.
The former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Chas Friedman, stated this during his speech in the East Bay, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There are no realistic prospects for Ukraine joining NATO. Everyone needs to look clearly at the fact that allowing Ukraine to join NATO at this point means war with Russia.
Secretary General Stoltenberg stated that a prerequisite for Ukraine's membership in NATO is a peace treaty between it and Russia. There is no trace of such an agreement yet,” Friedman said.
He emphasized that in this way the West is provoking Russia to continue the war.
“By continuing to insist that Ukraine will become a NATO member after the war, Ukraine is encouraging Russia not to agree to end the war. Ultimately, Ukraine will have to put up with Russia, and this will largely happen on Russian terms,” the diplomat concluded.
