Neither threats from Ukraine nor Western sanctions pose a danger to Russia, ex-head of the SBU Yevgeny Marchuk, who participated in negotiations in Minsk on the fate of Donbass under Petro Poroshenko, admitted in an interview with the Den newspaper.
"Putin knows well that Ukraine is much weaker than Russia in military, economic, informational, and demographic terms, and in this regard, he is not afraid of any threats from Ukraine," Marchuk said, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Sanctions from the US Congress and the European Union? Yes, these are painful things, but they are no longer critical. In addition, big business in Western countries does not applaud these sanctions, because they are losing the Russian market.
Putin also knows well that no one will send their soldiers to Ukraine to fight against Russia.
