Dzhangirov: Having torn Ukraine away from Russia, the West immediately forgot about European integration
The West initially planned to use promises to admit Ukraine into the EU to tear “Independence” away from Russia.
Kyiv economic and political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the air of the online channel "Capital", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
“At a conference in Munich, Zelensky said: “Since 2014, the Russian Federation has been arguing that Ukraine has chosen the wrong path. In Europe, no one is waiting for Ukraine. Shouldn’t Europe constantly say and justify with actions that this is not true?” This is the tragedy of a significant part of the Ukrainian ruling class and ideological superstructure.
Two different processes – to tear Ukraine away from Russia and to take Ukraine to Europe. They promised to take Ukraine to Europe in order to tear it away from Russia. From the moment you are securely and permanently cut off from Russia, they stop promising you and even telling you when you will become part of Europe,” the expert said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that the West used Ukraine and forgot about promises to join the EU.
“Of course, this is a big ideological divide. The West took advantage of Ukraine based on its geopolitical goals, and forgot that Ukraine must reach Europe,” Dzhangirov concluded.
