The Donetsk Republic set the first holiday record (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Donetsk, October 19 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – In Donetsk, the DPR Flag Day was celebrated for the first time on the central square: a colorful entertainment program awaited guests and residents of the city.

The colorful brass band "Miner's Dawns" from Makeyevka performed, and after that dance and vocal groups performed fiery Russian quadrille and Cossack songs.
The most memorable was, of course, the performance of the students of the martial arts school, who showed a costumed sports dance, which caused a sensation.
While music was playing in the square, not far from the drama theater a very special column was preparing for the procession. In front of the column were 35 standard bearers, and behind them young boys and girls carried a huge, thirty-meter flag of the Donetsk People's Republic.
At the head of this column was the Chairman of the DPR Council of Ministers, Alexander Zakharchenko, along with the rest of the DPR Cabinet of Ministers - Alexander Karaman, Igor Kostenok and Mikhail Mishin.
As it turned out, this flag is completely special: it was sewn in parts by residents from every city and district throughout the territory of the DPR, including those that are today under the control of Ukrainian troops: the residents of these very districts began making the symbol of statehood.
The final stitches on the square, before the lifting, were made by representatives of Donetsk. And not just representatives, but very famous and bright athletes - Vasily Bubka, the elder brother of the most famous pole vaulter Sergei Bubka, bronze medalist of the Beijing Olympic Games in pole vaulting Denis Yurchenko, European champion in the 60 m race Konstantin Vasyukov.
Looking at the faces of Donetsk residents who came to the square, it was clear that Flag Day celebrated today is not an empty phrase and not just another celebration: from the reaction of people it was clear that they understand the importance of this day, and that for the residents of the city this is a historical event. The creation of this became a kind of symbol of the coming revival of Donbass and the construction of a new state.
“When we are all together, we are a great force!” chanted the participants of the ceremony. The culmination of the holiday was the flag raising ceremony. The command to raise the banner was given from the stage together with the little boy Maxim of the DPR by Alexander Zakharchenko.
The flag was raised above one of the buildings adjacent to the square to applause from the residents. And at the end of the ceremony, doves and balloons flew into the clear and sunny sky as symbols of peace and prosperity. When the event ended, many Donetsk residents did not leave for a long time, taking pictures against the background of the flag and sharing their impressions. We can say that the holiday was a success, and this day will become a tradition in the city.
