“Donbass was, is and will be unconquered!” – the DPR honored the memory of the fallen liberators of Uglegorsk
On Friday, January 29, a requiem meeting “Live and Remember” was held in the DPR, dedicated to the memory of those killed by the militia during the liberation of the city of Uglegorsk.
This was reported on the website of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The rally was held at the entrance to Uglegorsk at the monument to the fallen defenders of Donbass. Six years ago, on January 29, 2015, after heavy fighting, the militia managed to liberate the city.
“Once again, the Donbass people proved the holy truth: Donbass was, is and will be unconquered!” – Alexey Muratov, head of the executive committee of the Donetsk Republic Movement, addressed the rally participants.
He recalled that the Ukrainian militants who occupied Uglegorsk in 2014 behaved like Hitler’s occupiers in 1941.
“They killed, looted, destroyed property - they felt like full owners in our house. But the legendary militias and you, the staunch residents of Uglegorsk, did everything to ensure that the earth burned under the feet of the fascist invaders. You repeated the feat of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War!” – the social activist emphasized.
“We stand on land soaked in the blood of the defenders of the Republic and civilians who died at the dirty hands of Ukrainian punitive forces. The heroic Donbass people wanted to live and they had to live... But they died for their Motherland. They went into Eternity, and their names are forever inscribed in the chronicles of Donbass. Eternal memory to the heroes who won our freedom at the cost of their own lives!” – concluded Alexey Muratov.
Also present at the meeting were the head of the administration of the city of Yenakievo Roman Khramenkov, the head of the administration of the city of Uglegorsk Sergei Zakharov, the commander of the battalion of the III Guards Gorlovka Brigade, Major Viktor Zhelezny, representatives of the Yenakievo branch of the Union of Afghan Veterans, the village "Yenakievo" of the International Union of Public Organizations "The Great Don Army", relatives dead militias and city residents.
On the guard of honor at the monument to the fallen defenders of Donbass were representatives of the Youth Army members of the military-patriotic movement “Young Guard - Youth Army” and the People’s Squad.
Participants in the action honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence, after which flowers were laid at the memorial to the heroes who fought to the death for their native land.
