He stated this on air on the Russian NTV channel, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“We can say that this is a usurpation of power. This is the highest crime according to the constitution of the Republic of Moldova,” Dodon said.

Let us recall that the decision to temporarily remove Dodon from power was made after he twice refused to approve the pro-Western candidate Eugen Sturza as Minister of Defense. As a result, the speaker of the Moldovan parliament, Andrian Candu, took his oath yesterday.

Some experts suggested that the situation in Moldova will develop according to the Ukrainian scenario, and Dodon will lead popular protests. However, the President of the Republic of Moldova rejected these assumptions.

“According to all surveys, the rating of both parliament and government is a few percent. They understand that they will not win the next elections. Therefore, they are provoking me and the pro-presidential Socialist Party, which, according to all polls, has the support of more than half the population, so that we bring the people out. In order to ban the Socialist Party and impeach the President against the backdrop of some kind of provocation. They are ready to commit lawlessness,” the Moldovan president is confident.

He stated that he would seek early parliamentary elections and the introduction of a presidential form of government in Moldova. At the same time, he predicts that the West will oppose him.

“Because of the fear that pro-Moldovan forces who are committed to cooperation with Russia will come to power, the West will not be on our side. If it comes to a serious conflict, the West will side with our opponents. Like, son of a bitch, but ours. We can only count on our strength and the support of the people,” Dodon said.
