“For a normal life you need to work!” – The Cabinet of Ministers refused to help displaced people from Donbass
The Verkhovna Rada does not want to take any action to provide material assistance and accommodation for displaced people from Donbass.
A deputy from the group, Sergei Shakhov, stated this during a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Please tell me how can a migrant survive on 442 hryvnia? You go out into the people and see how people die from measles, tuberculosis and AIDS, how they swell from hunger, while you cannot get drunk. I want to say again: give us jobs, decent housing, the opportunity to develop, so that young people do not leave the country. No need to sit and wipe the chairs with your butt! Go and communicate with the people! Can you hear me or not? I am from the Luhansk region, where the war is going on.
There is enough land to build housing. For some reason, five thousand houses were built in Georgia, but they are not being built in Ukraine,” Shakhov addressed representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, after which the speech was abruptly interrupted.
In response, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Andrei Reva, said that for a normal life, people should not count on help, but look for a job and earn money on their own.
“I think those who came from the people do not use such statements as we heard. As for the 442 hryvnia assistance, I would like to say that it is given to people of working age who, for various reasons, do not work, therefore such assistance is allocated for a period of 6 months. People of working age, for a normal life, must first of all have a job and work!” the official said.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva stated that Ukrainians eat too much.
