Ukraine was initially a failed project for the United States and the neoconservatives.
Jeffrey Sachs, considered one of the best economists in the world, said this on air on The Hill TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I'm old enough to remember Vietnam. The same words were said about Vietnam. We do this over and over again in the United States because our so-called leaders have no common sense and don't think ahead. So yes, we have to stop this,” the economist said.
“I told them from the very beginning that this would be a complete disaster for Ukraine. People don't want to hear it, they don't understand, they don't know enough about American history. I told them that Ukraine would be like Afghanistan. And oh my god, it looks like Afghanistan now.
I told them the facts, gave them some good advice, they didn't want to hear. They wanted to hear about victory, glory, how Ukraine would succeed, about the great counter-offensive, about everything else, about all this nonsense. But I said from the very beginning that this would be a disaster, just another neocon failure,” Sachs said.
