The long hand of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reached out to Irina Farion
The Department for the Investigation of Crimes Related to the Use of Prohibited Means and Methods of Warfare, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, initiated a criminal case against Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Farion on the grounds of crimes provided for in Part 4 of Article 33, paragraphs “a, l”, Part. 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement to commit murder), Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).

According to investigators, on October 15, 2014, at a nationalist rally held in Kiev, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Farion publicly, including using the media, made destructive and violent calls for action encouraging the destruction of Russia as a state and Russians as a group of people based on nationality. Based on these statements, a comprehensive psychological and linguistic forensic examination was carried out, the conclusions of which clearly confirmed the criminal nature of Farion’s statements.
"In accordance with Part 3 of Article 12 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens not permanently residing in the Russian Federation who commit a crime outside the Russian Federation are subject to criminal liability under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation if the crime is directed against the interests of the Russian Federation or citizens of the Russian Federation," recalled Markin, head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The long arm of the Russian Investigative Committee has reached Irina Farion.
