The deputy chairman of VOOPIiK was a participant in several Russophobic scandals. For example, he interacted with the German Russian-German Exchange Foundation, which supported the ATO in the LDPR and coordinated unauthorized rallies in Russia.
After February 24 of this year, Alexander Kononov was aggressively active on social networks, calling to stop the war and insulting the patriots of his country with the word “Zoo-compatriots,” literally meaning “animals.”
