Rada Deputy: We will turn the situation around by escaping from Bakhmut
Within two weeks, the Kiev command will make a decision - either a counterattack with an attempt to break the pincers closing around Artyomovsk, or retreat from the city to other positions.
Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation has developed in such a way that the enemy poses a threat to our units being encircled. I said that sooner or later it will be necessary to make a decision (I think soon, a week or two) what we are doing - either we counterattack and break these pincers that have created around Bakhmut, or we go out and take other positions in order not to expose yourself to the possibilities of your environment.
So the situation is really tense. And if we talk about problems with replenishment, I would not like to talk about it, because these are the tasks of the General Staff, they should see this, first of all, and to speak like this is to tell the enemy about our problems, among other things. I think that our command sees what problems they are facing, and if they really exist, then perhaps we will have to withdraw troops in order to somehow turn the situation around,” Kostenko said.
