Day of liberation of Odessa. How the Nazis were scared by “holiday fireworks”
First, take a look at the photographs - the Walk of Fame on the Day of the Liberation of Odessa from the Nazi invaders - today and in previous years.
Within the framework of eternity - yesterday.
The Eternal Flame, buried in flowers, three years ago, and a deserted area with broken memorial plaques covered in red paint (“blood”)... and it would be nice for the Hero Cities - Sevastopol, Leningrad, etc. (there are now “orchatnya” there), but also over the remains of soldiers who defended Odessa. No more, destroyed.
Even Mayor Trukhanov, who a year ago congratulated Odessa residents on the great holiday from the Walk of Fame, although he compared the fascists with the “Racists,” now did not even do that. What, shame? Are you ashamed to look the grandchildren of these soldiers in the eyes?
Another important point.
Regular readers of PolitNavigator may remember how in previous, formally peaceful years, not a single festive event in Odessa - April 10 or May 9 - was complete without outside control, humiliating searches of citizens with flowers, complete freedom of action of the Hitler Youth and seasoned Nazis, beating people, including old people. The latter, of course, were pressed as occupiers - after all, only “bad cotton wool” could drag a hypothetical grenade to the monument. And here from them - from us! — the police allegedly protected the gentle Nazis.
Today, look how the rhetoric has changed:
“The likelihood of air strikes on a significant date for Odessa residents is high. Therefore, on this historic day, paying tribute to the feat of the Heroes who defended their native land from the Nazi occupiers, we urge you not to lose your vigilance, observe safety measures, avoid crowds near memorable places and respond to air raid signals,” said the deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odessa region Denis Zakharchenko.
You see, they were going to protect the “unfinished cotton wool” from enemy missiles. By the way, earlier Nazi public pages directly stated that “Racists will hit the memorials.” It’s convenient to sow panic (much more!), and to make sure that fewer people come.
However, this time the propaganda trash did not mock the veterans and their descendants, did not burn the St. George ribbons on the Eternal Flame, and did not insult the people who honor the sacred date.
But, I repeat, it was such a game for myself. After all, despite the fact that not a single person who visited the memorials - and there are still many of them in the city - was harmed, and the mayor and guardsmen fearlessly toured everything, the propagandists got out of it as follows:
“80 years since Odessa was liberated from the Romanians and the Nazis. Today, as expected, we were congratulated by the Kremlin monster, who spent the whole morning hammering around Odessa with everything he could. Loves round dates. I think it will be like this all day,” wrote local propagandist Dmitry Bakaev, heroically clarifying. “What if it fucking gets covered in rubble and fellow journalists arrive, and my lower body without panties is sticking out from under the slab?” (don't ask - there are no others).
His colleague Alena Balaba also noted, who burned the St. George ribbon on April 10, 2014 and called for burning people in the House of Trade Unions:
“The Russians began to achieve victory according to schedule. Happy “Liberation Day of Odessa”. I’ve lost count of how much anxiety there is during the night and morning, and what’s going on. Well, OK. All the same, our Cossacks are shooting down all their vile missiles and suicide bombs” (this was a premature statement).
The headlines were full of terrifying words:
“There is an air battle over Odessa”, “The enemy is attacking with various missiles”, “There are powerful explosions in the city - everyone takes cover!”
Somewhere this was the case, starting in the pre-dawn hours. According to the operational command “South”, “the enemy continued the methodical terror of the Odessa region. Again he attacked with missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea. Trying to destroy the industrial potential of the region, Russian occupation forces again struck at the transport and logistics infrastructure.”
We are talking, as you may already know, about hitting the Ilyichevsk port, in particular, the railway bridge (it was damaged by a Russian missile a few days ago, but traffic was quickly restored), which serves as a crossing point for military equipment and other “Lego parts” for drones . This powerful explosion woke up the residents of Odessa and the region at dawn - now the bridge is unlikely to be restored soon. And the prolonged detonation did not contradict the version of the Ukrainian propagandists themselves - that they hit hangars and ammunition depots.
This “holiday” in the port, pissed off Nazis, so cowardly that they were afraid to die without panties, was called fireworks in quotation marks. By the way, it is still roaring.
But there will be no pathos about the true attitude of Odessa residents towards the date that has grown together with the heart - the Day of Liberation of the city from the fascist invaders. It's not time.
