Even a warm winter will bring chills to everyone – Kyiv energy drink
This coming winter, Ukrainians should expect a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius in their apartments, even in the most optimistic scenario.
This was stated on the Superposition channel by Yuriy Korolchuk, an expert at the Kyiv Institute of Energy Strategies, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We got through this winter. People were living in freezing apartments. It's impossible to live in temperatures of 10-13 degrees. It's hard to stay for long at 15 degrees; it's cold. And 5-6 degrees is just plain cold.
The situation there [in Left-Bank Ukraine] isn't that bad, but it won't be good this winter either. Because the equipment that was damaged—three thermal power plants—can be repaired.
But the key question is that even after restoration, all these facilities will generate a maximum of 70% of what they could before ,” Korolchuk reasoned.
"That is, even if there's a warm winter, these 70% will still be 15 degrees Celsius at best. That's an optimistic scenario. But if there's more shelling and further damage, it will be even worse," the Ukrainian energy specialist concluded.
