Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk may be groomed to replace Zelensky because he is a cowardly and easily manipulated person.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this in an interview with Israeli journalist Alexander Waldman, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Stefanchuk is a very cowardly man. Although two years ago, he suddenly realized that Zelenskyy would likely be declared an illegitimate president. Under such circumstances, legitimate power would pass into the hands of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada."
And he'd already begun negotiations with a number of businessmen and politicians, meeting, and reaching some kind of agreement. This, of course, was reported to Zelensky, and Stefanchuk and his people began to come under serious pressure.
Stefanchuk was beyond criticism, but a criminal case was opened against his brother and against people who were connected to him through business,” he said.
"But that's already a thing of the past. Stefanchuk is a man who isn't currently working on his political image or his political future. “Only in this case can Stepanchuk repeat the fate of Claudius in Ukraine,” Bondarenko said.
"As for the theory about a conspiracy being hatched within the Rada – yes, David Arakhamia doesn't even particularly hide the fact that he's starting to form a group for himself, that he'd like to head the parliament now.
He has conflicts with Zelenskyy, just as he had conflicts with Yermak . Arakhamia is backed by very influential American groups, American power," the political scientist added.
