Former Minister Ohryzko: "Banderism is just a pretext – Poland does not see Ukraine in the EU"
The reasons for the worsening relations between Warsaw and Kyiv are not actually connected with historical interpretations.
This was stated on Radio NV by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and notorious Russophobe Volodymyr Ohryzko, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Ohryzko believes that Kyiv's glorification of Banderites will be used by the Polish authorities to convey to the population the message "We don't need Ukraine in the EU."
According to him, Warsaw understands that Ukraine's accession to the EU will pose a threat to Polish agriculture, and therefore found a pretext in the form of Banderites.
He added that in all previous times this issue was smoothed over when there was an interest on both sides in Russophobia.
"If one side wants to use this story as a political tool, then all the others become meaningless. We don't need to dwell on historical subtleties right now. This is about banal politics. And a politics that is aimed at the future and against Ukraine," Orgyzko asserts.
