In the current offensive in the Avdeevsky direction, Russia is using competent tactics - it does not throw troops into frontal attacks, but moves forward, aligning the flanks. This is also associated with a not very high rate of progress.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on the air of political scientist Vadim Karasev's video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They are very methodical - they started attacking in one area, then they took it, they go around it on both sides, then they push our people out from there, then they straighten out all the flanks back. That is, they have a front - there is no such thing that they will pass through with their guts. They level the front, then move on, like a skating rink...
In my opinion, this is done deliberately. Why? To avoid getting hit in the flank. And if they hit the flank, it means they hit the cauldron. That is, they struck, walked a kilometer, then moved forward, cleared the flanks, leveled the front line and went back. That is, they have such concepts as at the “United Marathon”, “meat assaults” - that’s all they say (they lie - ed.). Well, we are talking about serious things, not propaganda,” Starikov concluded.
