Dagestan: failure locally and in the center - Gurulev did not blame everything on the enemy abroad
Federal security forces should have taken control of the situation in Dagestan last week, when a crowd stormed the Flamingo Hotel in Khasavyurt under the pretext that refugees from Israel were being housed there.
State Duma deputy Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev announced this on the People's Front stream, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Yes, there are a lot of questions. First, the most important thing: if this theme developed from this hotel, there are also national characteristics there. I served in Dagestan for 6 years. There, in the same Ministry of Internal Affairs, every employee is either a brother, or a matchmaker, or a kunak. At the airport there, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not have much success, including for this reason.
But why didn’t the federal structures react? Why was there no enhancement? Why weren’t all facilities, including transport ones, placed under enhanced security? And most importantly, what prevented you from closing this telegram channel earlier? Here is a question for Roskomnadzor,” Gurulev said.
He believes that the security forces of Dagestan were well aware of all the extremist cells “and most likely were herding,” but were afraid to take action against them without “Moscow’s team.”
The deputy proposes to conduct an audit of power structures in Dagestan in order to identify those who allowed the destabilization of the republic to be controlled from abroad.
