The population of the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk, which was renamed Dnepr by the Kyiv authorities in 2016, is rapidly declining.
Journalist and TV presenter Savik Shuster stated this during his speech in Dnepropetrovsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dnepropetrovsk is on the list of the most problematic cities in the world. This is a United Nations list. According to their forecasts, over 35 years the population of the Dnieper will decrease by almost 200 thousand people. If Dnepr was a million-plus city, then it will cease to be one, no longer, but this is data from a week ago, when the State Statistics Committee said this. Over 8 months, the city lost approximately 3 people.
Let’s look at the State Statistics Committee data: since January 2018, 14 people were born, and 741 died. That is, the demographic picture is monstrous,” he said.
