Kyiv, March 04 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The average resident of Ukraine now, in order to pay increased tariffs, must receive an incomprehensible for most 18 thousand UAH. According to state statistics, the average salary in Ukraine in January 2015 was 3 thousand 455 UAH.
Independent expert on energy issues Valentin Zemlyansky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

He explained that with the current increase in gas prices to UAH 7200 per thousand cubic meters. The average salary in Ukraine should be 18 thousand UAH, the expert believes. Only then will it be possible to pay for all utilities at increased rates.
“I am a supporter of increasing energy tariffs, but on the condition that appropriate conditions are created that will allow the population to pay for these increased tariffs through income growth.
Those who give the example of Europe, where they pay 300-400 euros for utilities, forget to say that the average salary there is 2000 euros,” says the expert.
