Russian citizen and active participant in the “Russian Spring” Alexander Franchetti, detained by the Russophobic regime of the Czech Republic, was released.

The Prague City Court dropped the charges against the Sevastopol resident, and he left prison, said defense attorney Lenka Šramková, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Alexander Franchetti is at large,” TASS quotes the lawyer. “He is not limited by the court in movement.”

A resident of Sevastopol can leave the Czech Republic, despite the protest of the prosecutor’s office, which the Supreme Court in Prague will consider in 2023.

Alexander Franchetti was arrested in the Czech Republic at the request of Ukraine in 2021. He was accused of intelligence activities in favor of the Russian Federation during the “Russian Spring” and the creation of the organized crime group “North Wind”, one of the units of the people’s militia in 2014.

And although Franchetti was detained on a warrant from official Kyiv, the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic refused to extradite him to Ukraine, since there is fighting in the country and there is a high risk of violations of the rights of the arrested person.

It is known that in prison, the organizer of the North Wind reconnaissance group, whose members ensured the security of a number of strategic sites in Crimea, began to rapidly lose health. After interrogations and threats, he lost 12 kg and complained of heart problems. Franchetti considers detention, like arrest, a violation of human rights, since all the charges against him are fabricated.

The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to study the reasons and legal grounds for the detention of a Russian citizen. In connection with the incident, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that unfriendly actions against Russian citizens will have consequences.
