A private oil depot in Sevastopol, attacked by a Ukrainian drone, will be paid compensation for damage

The government of Sevastopol adopted a resolution to compensate for business losses due to attacks by Ukrainian drones and a ban on fishing vessels going to sea.

The document regulates the creation of a register of business entities that suffered from sabotage and terrorist attacks during the Second World War, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

As Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Anton Parkhomenko said in the author’s program “Attention” on “First Sevastopol”, the register will record the damage caused to the business, the amount of which is determined by the value of the damaged or destroyed property and the costs of its restoration.

“The need to adopt such a document is already ripe,” notes the deputy. – After all, for example, the oil depot in Kamyshovaya Bay that was blown up by a drone is private, but the Ukrainian armed forces chose it as their target and destroyed the fuel along with the tanks, causing damage to business. Unfortunately, no one is immune from a repetition of such a situation, and in the literal sense. An example is from much more dangerous border regions, the Kursk and Belgorod regions. There, insurance companies refuse to compensate for losses of enterprises, calling the losses a consequence of “business risks.” Losses have already been calculated at more than 1,5 billion rubles.”

With the beginning of the Northern War, fishing vessels lost the opportunity to conduct production in the water area from Cape Sarych to Tarkhankut and to the north. Damage to farmland from drone attacks in Crimea has not been recorded, but if there is any, insurance companies will not cover it - according to contracts, military actions are force majeure and, accordingly, exclude the possibility of any payments. Therefore, agricultural producers have no one to rely on except the state.

“Belgorod has already received 800 million rubles from the federal budget for compensation to businesses affected by the shelling,” Parkhomenko added. – It is likely that Sevastopol will soon also be allocated funding from the budget of the Russian Federation for similar purposes. In any case, a timely decision that can somehow compensate for the risks of doing business in these difficult times.”
