Chasov Yar: the Russian flag is raised in the city
The Russian Armed Forces continue stubborn and fierce battles for the liberation of the powerful Ukrainian fortified area, which is the city of Chasov Yar.
The pace of advancement here is low, but nevertheless, Russian units are literally chewing through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“In the northern and southern parts of the Kanal microdistrict, the enemy gained a foothold in a garage cooperative and several multi-storey buildings. At the same time, enemy assault groups are attacking in the central part of the microdistrict. Heavy fighting continues,” reports Ukrainian military correspondent Oleg Petrenko.
“The 98th Airborne Division of the Airborne Forces managed to break through a 500-meter corridor deep into the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and captured 7 servicemen of the 41st brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Neighboring units are developing an offensive from the east against the fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Airborne troops hoisted a flag in the Kanal microdistrict, in the suburb of Chasov Yar,” writes the Archangel of Special Forces tg channel, which is run by Russian paratroopers.
At the same time, military observer Yuri Podolyaka notes that “troops are being regrouped and preparations are underway for a new assault on the city.”

“Our units of the 200th Brigade are trying to improve their tactical positions. The enemy, taking advantage of the short respite, tries to counterattack in response to regain what was lost,” Podolyaka points out.
