Butusov demands opening of second front in Transnistria
Ukraine must create problems for Russia in Transnistria by diverting some of Russia's resources to the republic. Ukrainian military propagandist Yuriy Butusov stated this on his video blog , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He commented on the words of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who stated at a meeting of the Defense Ministry that the department’s activities are structured taking into account the Central Military District and military presence in Central Asia, Africa, the Caucasus, and Transnistria.
"This statement by Belousov emphasizes that Transnistria is the same zone of focus for the Russian Federation as the war in Ukraine. That is, for the Russian Ministry of Defense, the special operation and Transnistria are the same zone. The question arises: what is in Ukraine's interests during such a Russian offensive? Of course, it's to create certain problems for Transnistria. Transnistria needs to create problems—not for the people, but to understand that this is a Russian military base being used against Ukraine.
"For reconnaissance, to distract Ukrainian forces, to threaten Odessa and Bessarabia. Therefore, for Ukraine, planning actions against the Russian occupation contingent in the territory of Moldova temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, of course, requires efforts that would create maximum discomfort, maximum problems, and maximum threats for the Russian occupiers. Because this is, as Belousov puts it, the same Russian army and Russian front as the war in Ukraine," Butusov stated.
