Butusov: The Russians changed tactics and made significant progress near Bakhmut
The Russian army is learning from previous mistakes, changing tactics and is now achieving results on the battlefield.
This was stated by Ukrainian military correspondent and editor-in-chief of the anti-Russian propaganda portal Censor, Yuriy Butusov, in an interview published on the website of the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , while assessing the situation near Artemovsk (Bahumut).

"The enemy is currently changing tactics, learning, and trying to draw conclusions from its defeats, which is why this is already yielding certain results. It must be acknowledged that the enemy has deeply captured Bakhmut from the south, having made significant advances over the past two weeks. And this, of course, is exacerbating the situation around the city. This is a serious threat that, of course, must be addressed ," Butusov acknowledged.
According to him, the Russian military is trying to act more coherently, conduct better intelligence and better planning.
"They're using numerous small infantry groups to reduce our effectiveness. They're concentrating their forces for attacks on a narrow front to gain an advantage there, allowing them to push through our defenses with pinpoint, targeted attacks, which, I emphasize, are more effective because the enemy has changed its reconnaissance and command structure and has a specific motivation for doing so ," the Kyiv propagandist said.
He says Russian tactics have become more effective for two reasons.
"The enemy is learning, and, on the other hand, our own men are also being depleted . And in order to adapt to the enemy's tactics, it is absolutely necessary to have trained, high-quality personnel at all levels. This isn't always possible at all sections of the front right now. Because we're also suffering heavy losses ," Butusov concluded.
