When attacking Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine uses “bee swarm” tactics to overload the peninsula’s air defenses.

In order to prevent such attacks, the Russian army must destroy enemy airfields, its decision-making centers, as well as NATO spy drones that direct enemy missiles to targets.

Advisor to the head of the DPR, member of the Northern Military District, Yan Gagin, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.

“The enemy uses “bee swarm” tactics, when several types of missiles and drones are used simultaneously. They are trying to overload our air defense. This works partly, but the overwhelming majority of attacking products are affected.

What can be done - here I can speak personally as a citizen, as a soldier participating in a special operation, and not as an official - we need to destroy decision-making centers, enemy air bases deep in the rear.

In any case, we should start warning and destroying NATO aircraft, which provide target designation for these attacks on Crimea and Sevastopol. Because intelligence is also participation in the conflict and participation in the war. Target designation is participation in the strike itself,” notes Gagin.

The representative of the Navy, with whom PolitNavigator spoke, assessed the prospect of attacks on NATO spy drones.

“This topic has been relevant since the beginning of the operation. At a certain period, we “transferred” the flight routes of NATO reconnaissance aircraft from the shores of Crimea by using our SU-30s to “blacken” a reconnaissance drone that splashed down in the Black Sea. After this, the enemy flies either along the coast of Turkey or along the coast of Romania and Bulgaria.

Yes, the technical capabilities of reconnaissance and, most importantly, guidance of Ukrainian drones and missiles at objects in Crimea have been limited, but this possibility has not been completely ruled out.

It should be noted that NATO reconnaissance aircraft take off from the airfields of Sigonella (Italy), Souda Bay (Greek island of Crete) and less often from Ramstein (Germany), and they now fly not along our borders, but along the borders of NATO countries.

While we are not at war with these countries, we cannot shoot down their aircraft in this airspace. Perhaps this will be the next stage of our confrontation,” the officer suggested.

Columnist Yuri Baranchik believes that because of the downed drone, the war will not begin.

“The nuclear ultimatum is the last resort. For starters, you can at least start hitting the enemy command and control system. For example, shoot down a NATO plane in the Black Sea. The Turks shot down our planes. For some reason, the war didn’t start,” Baranchyk recalled.
