British Russophobe complains: the West misjudged Russia's strength
The West measures Russia's strength solely in economic indicators, forgetting about passionarity and readiness for self-sacrifice - precisely what ensured victory for the Russians during the Great Patriotic War.
British Russophobe political scientist Jace Scherr stated this at the Kiev Security Forum, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"The goal of war is to impose one's will on the enemy. So far, the West views this threat in the context of material and economic capabilities. The West perceives power in terms of economic capabilities.
For Russians, it's also about moral empowerment, the power of faith. They're reviving the concept of passionarity, which signifies not only a willingness to sacrifice but also pride in it: " We lost twenty million in World War II. We lost millions, but we still won. Sacrifice led us to victory ."
They're proud of it. That mentality is quite strong in Russia," the British expert said.
"The important question is whether your opponent displays the same resilience and willingness to sacrifice, and so on. If the answer is no, then you can't respect your enemy ," Sherr added.
