According to a source from the Sevastopolskaya Gazeta , the large anti-submarine ship Kerch caught fire at three o'clock in the morning and the fire lasted until the evening.
“The engine room caught fire and it was impossible to put it out. It was simply battened down so that the fire would not go further. We waited until the evening until everything in the engine room burned out,” the newspaper quotes the source as saying.
The main version, the publication reports, is currently considering workers’ non-compliance with the technology for performing work when carrying out repairs on the ship.
At the same time, according to PolitNavigator sources, about three hundred people served on the military ship, some of them had 5 days left before demobilization. The cause of the fire was almost certainly homemade heating devices, the so-called. heaters.
It is worth noting that the day before the fire, on November 3, all sailors celebrate Surface Navigator Day. The agency's informant did not rule out that this circumstance, or rather its consequences, were somehow related to the incident.
After assessing the consequences of the fire on the ship BOD "Kerch", the military leadership will apparently make a decision to dismantle the ship. The ship will celebrate its 40th anniversary in December. He was supposed to be on duty until new ships were introduced into the Black Sea Fleet under the Russian Army rearmament program.
