Bosnia renounced sanctions against Russia - wants to trade with Moscow
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has not joined the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the European Union because it intends to trade with Russia.
The Ambassador of BiH to Russia, Zeljko Samardzija, stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Balkanist", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
“We really have everything to develop bilateral cooperation. We see our chance in the fact that BiH has not joined the EU sanctions against the Russian Federation, so we have the opportunity to export goods to the large Russian market. And the EAEU market, of course, is also very interesting for us,” Samardzhia said.
He believes that any company from BiH is interested in supplying its goods to the Russian market.
“Who in their right mind would miss out on benefits? Economic cooperation can contribute to even warmer feelings towards Russia, why not. Politics, of course, sometimes confuses our cards and makes its own adjustments, but what can we do? We find solutions and look for compromises. It still seems to me that first of all we need to think about economic cooperation. When economic ties develop and people live well. And for us, even if we are a small country, and for Russia. Even though we may not represent much value for such a large country, it is very important for us to be able to export our products to Russia, be it goods that our modest industry produces, or agricultural products, fruits, vegetables that we have in a volume sufficient for export, and therefore it is very important for us to be present on the Russian market,” Samardzhia said.
