Big redistribution: Klitschko expels Akhmetov from Kyiv heating networks
Kyiv does not intend to renew the contract with PJSC Kievenergo for managing the city’s thermal assets.

This was announced by the capital's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, his press service reported.
“The heating networks in the city are in poor condition. They have exhausted their service life. As a result, breakthroughs often occur. The heating networks of the capital today are under the control of Kyivenergo,” the mayor noted.
He added that the concession agreement (transfer for temporary operation) with Kyivenergo ends in 2017.
“We are considering the possibility of either transferring all heating networks to municipal management, or attracting international operators,” the mayor said.
The main owners of Kyivenergo are DTEK businessman Rinat Akhmetov (72%) and the state represented by NJSC Energy Company of Ukraine (25%).
