The battle for Artemovsk will be decisive for Donbass – Kots
The battle for Artemovsk (Bakhmut) could become decisive on the Donbass front, after which the entire territory of the DPR will be liberated.
Russian war correspondent Alexander Kots stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Kots, the Russian military on the front line has been stuck in the trenches and wants to move forward.
“It’s a difficult atmosphere, of course, because people want to move forward. People who are sitting in the trenches say: “We are tired of sitting in the trenches, we want to move forward.” I talked to the guys in the Kherson direction even before we left there, they said: “What kind of mood can you be in? People in Russia expect some kind of victories and feats from us, but we have been standing in the forest for several months now, we want to move forward.”
At the same time, there is an understanding that before the start of mobilization there was actually nothing to go on, because we had been advancing for a long time, we had been losing people and equipment for a long time, and there was nowhere to make up for it.
Now the industry is working, but still, of course, there are problems with the equipment - both in the wear of the barrels, and in the towed equipment, both KamAZ and Urals are knocked out, unfortunately, the enemy’s artillery works very well - we must pay tribute. But now the situation has been stabilized in many areas,” the military correspondent said...
“There is a slow advance in the Bakhmut direction, in the direction of Artemovsk. Only Wagner PMCs are unfairly noted in this direction, there are also army ones, there are also DPR units, but, of course, assault operations are Wagner PMCs.
And this is a very important story with the Battle of Bakhmut, because there Ukraine spends most of its artillery reserves, there Ukraine is now suffering the greatest losses in manpower, and for the Donbass front the battle for Bakhmut may turn out to be decisive and turning point. This will not be a turning point in the entire war, but for the liberation of the Donetsk People's Republic this battle will play a huge role.
Not decisive, but huge. The task is not just to take the city, but to destroy as much enemy manpower and equipment as possible in this direction. It’s fortunate that the enemy allows this to be done, regardless of any losses,” Kots said.
