A Crimean woman who fled to Kyiv: All of Kerch was ready to stand up and go to Putin long ago
The famous Ukrainian TV presenter, a native of Kerch, Masha Efrosinina cried in the toilet and experienced “hypertonicity of the uterus” when she learned that the Crimeans voted in favor of Russia in the referendum.
She stated this on the air of the internet channel “There Are Rumors,” reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
Efrosinina said that at that moment she was in her third month of pregnancy and took the transition painfully. However, according to the TV presenter, she could argue this for herself, because from her Crimean childhood in the mid-90s she remembers the sharp Ukrainization of Crimea, poverty and constant interruptions in water supply, electricity and heat.
“Suddenly, all TV became Ukrainian-language, and the Crimeans really went crazy. Nobody prepared them. So, from today, everything - the Era TV channel, 1+1 - is only Ukrainian-language broadcasting. Grandfather got drunk that day. How? His life is TV. Factory, TV - everything. "Like this? What are these damned creatures doing to us?!”
I remember this from my childhood, I was 14-15 years old, when the TV turned off at home because we didn’t understand anything. At school we had one hour a week, and then we could write a statement about refusing the language. And, as a rule, everyone wrote.
It was possible to improve my English and take some additional lessons on Masha. This was not made at all for all of us as some kind of goal or new norm of life. Ukrainian was presented as some kind of obstacle, as some kind of violation of our freedom.
Then there is always this poverty, because “Kyiv has no time for us, because all the ships pass by us, past the Kerch Strait, there is no gas.” I really remember my childhood - no gas, water, electricity. And it’s winter, which is important. It's still cold. This is how I remember these times... I remember this, and many families lived this way. Then I left for Kyiv and times changed, I cannot say that it was like this before the annexation, I can only refer to my childhood. But I absolutely understand why people in this damn referendum, I still consider it framed and fake, but Kerch voted 98%.
This was the reason for my tears in the toilet and hypertonicity of the uterus, because my stomach became like a stake. Because I can probably explain it all. Damn, they probably ended up somewhere in the very place where pilaf was heated up in dry alcohol, and they probably made a great play on it. Because, yes, we always lived in Crimea and believed that we were deprived somewhere, that Ukraine had no time for us,” said Efrosinina.
