Six years after the start of Euromaidan, Crimeans no longer identify themselves with Ukraine.
This was stated on air by the Verkhovna Rada deputy of previous convocations, Yevgeny Balitsky, on the air of the Chernomorskaya TRK TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the politician, Ukraine does not have the opportunity or options to return Crimea, and the population of the peninsula loves Ukraine, but not the current one, Bandera’s, but the one that was before the coup.
“Talking is not moving bags. I visit Crimea all the time, I don’t see an option at all. I want to return Crimea, but I don’t see any options... Ukrainians, if we talk about the people, are not stupid people. Politicians are still playing around. Not a single politician will tell you that Crimea is Russia, because they will simply trample it here.
But I’ve been going to Crimea since I was ’14. I just live there, 100 kilometers away, I have a son there, I just can’t help but go. I talk to people and I will tell you that they no longer identify themselves [with Ukraine]. They love, but they love that Ukraine, before 14, without all this Banderaism, without the demolition of monuments, without this gnawing of yesterday’s ideals, where they themselves came from,” Balitsky said.
