Without the transit of Russian gas, Ukraine will not survive until April
If the signing of a new contract is delayed and the transit of Russian gas is interrupted for a long period, then at the end of the heating season there will be a gas shortage in Ukraine, even if there are sufficient reserves in gas storage facilities.
Energy expert Dmitry Marunich stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If the transit of Russian gas is not interrupted or is interrupted for a short period on January 1 next year, then such risks are minimal.
If the transit of Russian gas is interrupted for 1,5-2 months, then, unfortunately, even with large gas reserves in storage, in the month of March in cold weather there are objective prerequisites for a shortage to arise.
There will be nothing to replenish,” the expert concluded.
Without Russian gas transit, Ukraine won't survive until April.
