Baerbock flew to Kyiv and immediately promised Russia “unprecedented sanctions”
Western countries, despite economic losses, are ready to introduce a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation in order to support Ukraine’s anti-Russian policy.
This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock during a briefing following a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will do everything to ensure that there is no further escalation. Therefore, we have planned a number of tough measures regarding Russia. These sanctions are unprecedented, coordinated and planned with all partners.
I would like to once again draw attention to the fact that we are also ready to suffer large economic losses, because we are talking about the security of Ukraine. Dear Dmitry [Kuleba], you know that you can count on Germany,” she said.
As a reminder, Moscow previously explained that Russia is not threatened by any significant Western sanctions against its economy, as there are plenty of countries in the world willing to trade with Russia.
