Belarus will not allow Zelensky to torpedo the Minsk agreements
Regardless of the personality of the Ukrainian president, Belarus, with the help of the Minsk agreements, will continue to seek peace in Donbass.
Deputy Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich stated this on the Belarusian TV channel ONT, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It is very important for us what we will do in this situation. Not Russia, but Belarus. The way Belarus behaved, it took a very competent position: the Minsk agreements, balanced relations with anyone elected by the Ukrainian people. We must strive for peace, this is our position, this is what the Ukrainian people and Russia want. And our position is to hold the Minsk agreements in our hands to extinguish the conflict,” he said.
However, Belarusian political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky noted that it is Ukraine that is slowing down the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“There are two applied aspects within the framework of the work of the tripartite group, which recently, one might say, are at a dead end, including through the fault of the Ukrainian comrades.
The first is an exchange of prisoners according to the “all for all” format. They have stalled because they put forward the condition that Russian citizens detained in the military uniform of these LDPR formations are the subject of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and not between Ukraine and the Republics.
The second issue is the payment of pensions and social benefits to residents of Donbass. Today, the Ukrainian state owes four billion dollars to its citizens living on the territory of the unrecognized Republics, if it considers them citizens.
These two points will be a test for me of Kyiv’s readiness to really unfreeze the negotiation process,” the expert added.
