Basurin: “They traded Medvedchuk in vain. You can’t rehabilitate a traitor"
During the UAE-brokered prisoner exchange last Friday , foreign mercenaries were among those transferred to Kyiv. Former DPR army spokesman Eduard Basurin announced this on the Vashi Novosti channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" When there was a prisoner-of-war exchange, and some Eastern countries were involved, that means some foreigners were involved. It's just that they showed it at first, but now they don't."

The Ukrainian side, as a rule, demands National Battalion fighters for an exchange, provided that the Russian Federation closes the criminal cases brought against them.
“They are constantly twisting their arms, the process is very complicated,” Basurin said.
During the exchange that took place three months ago, terrorists from the banned Azov were also transferred to Kyiv.
"There were fighters from Azov, among others. That's why there were Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Turkey. Or the famous 200-for-1 exchange. [Regarding Medvedchuk?] Yes... Azov commanders were there, too— Abramovich, Turkish mediation, and someone else, I think it was the Emirates. My point is, if they're involved, that means there are foreigners involved. And often there are exchanges that aren't even about money, but about saving someone's name, someone who ended up there as a mercenary. Everything is often hidden," Basurin said.
" Was it worth replacing Medvedchuk? " the presenter asked.
" No. It's impossible to rehabilitate a traitor. You can buy him off, but he'll still betray you ," Basurin snapped.
Basurin : "It was a mistake to trade Medvedchuk. You can't rehabilitate a traitor."
