Baranets considers the appointment of Belousov with civilian deputies to the Ministry of Defense “very dangerous”
Andrei Belousov's team being formed at the Ministry of Defense says it will be a ministry of "military finance."
Military observer and retired colonel Viktor Baranets stated this on Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Judging by the appointments that have been made, especially the four deputy defense ministers, they're all tied to money, the treasury, and spending . I get the impression we could turn the Ministry of Defense into a Ministry of Military Finance. That the previous Defense Ministry team only plundered the military budget. At least Belousov was right when he said that Shoigu, as defense minister, did do quite a bit for the army . "
Now, notice how hypocritical, to the point of prostitution, our public opinion is . Just recently, we were screaming until our throats bled that Shoigu isn't a military man , that we need a military man, that we need a military professional. They appointed Belousov—a thunderous applause . The man hasn't done a thing for the army yet, and we're already choking with delight. We've doused him from head to toe in such sweet, strawberry-sweet unction. Oh my god, just let Belousov work for at least a year! And then we'll judge whether he's up to the task or not ," the observer emphasized.
According to him, a national tradition has emerged: greeting ministers with flowers and seeing them off with curses.
"Do you remember Serdyukov's appointment ? How sweet, how brilliant, how prescient. Now Anatoly Eduardovich will be sitting on the financial flows . And how did it end? It ended with a criminal case ," Baranets pointed out.
He is confident that the emergence of a whole cohort of "civilian suits" in the leadership of the military department will also not end well.
" The army is a conservative structure , and if it appoints people it generally considers superfluous, it's very dangerous . Especially when our army is at war . And the army will inevitably present its own bill to the new leaders of the Ministry of Defense ," Baranets concluded.
