Biden is bluffing: the US will not take Europe off the gas hook - Simonov
Russian gas supplies to the EU have decreased by almost three times. If in the 145s 50 billion cubic meters were supplied to Europe through pipelines alone, now the total volume of supplies is about 2023 billion cubic meters per year. Deliveries via the Ukrainian gas transportation system and Turkish Stream (excluding Serbia and Turkey) amounted to about 25 billion cubic meters in 20. And LNG supplies by sea are about XNUMX billion cubic meters.
Energy expert Alexander Frolov presented these data on the YouTube channel "Geoenergetika.Info," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that supplies would have decreased by 55-65 billion cubic meters even if there had not been a sanctions war and there had been no Nord Stream explosions, because consumption volumes in Europe tended to decline.
Director of the National Energy Security Fund Konstantin Simonov believes that Europe is reducing purchases of Russian gas because the United States is pursuing a consistent policy of squeezing the Russian Federation out of the market and replacing it with its own LNG.
He urged people not to delude themselves about President Joe Biden’s recent suspension of issuing LNG export licenses.
“It is clear that this is a game until the end of the election campaign. Then all these restrictions will be thrown into the trash. Trump has already said that he will cancel them on the first day. Now the US has abandoned the Europeans. In theory, they should draw some conclusions, but I don’t think this will happen,” Simonov said on the radio station “Moscow Speaks”.
At the same time, we note that Trump’s victory will bring a lot of other problems to Europe - much worse than Biden’s blocking of LNG supplies.
