Azerbaijani expert upset Ukrainians: F-16s will not help you without AWACS
F-16 fighters received from the West will not change the situation at the front, when the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, experiencing a shortage of weapons, are stuck in the trenches.
Azerbaijani military expert Agil Rustamzade stated this on ICTV, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Air supremacy helps when you have all the components, the ground forces are also saturated with all the weapons, and they work together. What if your ground troops are stuck in the ground and have no way to move forward? Well, okay, the F-16 went, shot down two planes, came back, what next?
This will be a plus provided that they give you AWACS. Without AWACS, the F-16 is like an iPhone 7 in the days of the iPhone 15. There is a practice of leasing it, but there is no information that somewhere yours have been retrained for it. This is a very complex complex; it requires the same retraining period as the F-16, if not longer.
Training a tactical group of people who sit behind the monitors is the same time as training a pilot, maybe a little less,” Rustamzade said.
He added that NATO AWACS can only help on the southern front.
“But there is a nuance. South - AWACS that fly over Romania, they will be able to help illuminate the F-16. But here the question is in the northern zone, eastern zone, if you don’t have AWACS.
But F-16s in a minimum configuration, a squadron of 20 over Kiev, of course, will help. They will seriously strengthen air defense,” the Azerbaijani said.
