This morning it became known that the governor of Sevastopol Vladimir Yatsuba resigned. He informed his subordinates about this at a staff meeting.

The news was told to journalists by the head of the Regional City Council, Yuri Doynikov. He confirmed the intention of the City Council to create an executive committee, under whose subordination all departments of the city state administration will be transferred. Utility services reported that they would ensure normal life in the city, Doinikov clarified.

Meanwhile, according to Doinikov, the position of the security forces of Sevastopol is still unknown.

It is noteworthy that just yesterday Yatsuba declared at a rally that he would be with the people of Sevastopol to the end, crossed himself in front of those gathered and even knelt down.

Behind the scene of the rally, a Navigator correspondent witnessed a dialogue between Alexei Chaly, elected mayor of Sevastopol by the demonstrators, and Yatsuba. The latter assured that he would not leave his post “until he is removed.”

“Who will take your picture?” – asked Chaly.

“Who the hell knows,” Yatsuba replied.
